Yes people I was able to cook homemade tamales!!! I have to say they are a pain to cook and real messy but the taste is just amazing.. it tastes like Mexico!!! I'll upload the recipe soon!!

Just found you from your comment. Great blog and I love this recipe. I remember making this when I was little. I have a picture of my great grandmother, grandmother, mother and me all sitting around the table making tamales. When you're little, you don't realize what a blessing it is to have food bring four generations of women together, but I love that photo to this day and this post motivated me to crack out the apron and give it a go again. Look forward to stopping by more often.
