I know I've talked about the
St. Lawrence Market before. The thing is I really do enjoy buying my ingredients there, you end up meeting all this amazing people that can offer you different products and sometimes even suggest how to cook and match different ingredients, which I think it's amazing!.. They are so nice and will always receive you with a big smile!
As you walk through the market you'll see all this fresh ingredients waiting to be picked! And sometimes is hard to resist not to take them home with you. Most of the things you'll find there come from local farmers, and I am totally in favour of supporting our people!..
The smell, different textures, noise and people will make you realize how full of life it is.
Every time I need a nice cut of beef I go to Upper Cut Meats, located on the main floor on the South Building.. It is always fresh and amazing!! .. They have also helped me find great options that accommodate my budget.
For Fruit and Vegetables I always go to Family Foods, it is always very fresh and they have a great variety. I was able to find Chiles Serranos there and believe me those are hard to find.
And for the best Cheese in town I always go to Alex Farms. The best mild Gouda I've ever tried. They have a huge selection of great quality cheeses! They are so delicious!!.. Every week I go there to buy 1 kilo of Gouda cheese.. YES! In my house we do eat lots and lots of cheese!!!..
Some lovely pictures! Have a great new week!!

ReplyDeleteSt. Lawrence Market is one of the things I miss most about living in Toronto. Thanks for the reminder--I'll be sure to visit this summer when I'm in town.
ReplyDeleteThe St. Lawrence Market is definitely one of Toronto's best kept secrets. I mean, everyone knows about it, but not everyone has been there. And more importantly, those who have been there don't know about these amazing things Maru describes.
ReplyDeleteIf you like honey, make sure to visit Honey World! When I was there last year, the owner offered me sample after sample and told me all about the different honeys and where they came from : )
ReplyDeleteHey Thanks for the tip on the Honey!!.. I'll make sure I visit it next time I go there!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite place to shop in Toronto! In fact, I was just there this morning. :)
